1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Yumejo ("Yumejo", "we", "us", or "our"), and govern your access to and use of Yumejo and any related websites, applications, and services we provide (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Yumejo is an interactive visual-novel reader and editorial site for self-insert romance fiction, including free episodes, paid episodes, choice-driven stories, virtual currency ("coins"), and optional subscriptions. The Service may change over time: we may add, remove, or modify features, stories, or pricing at our discretion.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to make any purchase, hold a payment method on file, or maintain a paid subscription. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that your use complies with all laws applicable to you. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. Accounts and Security

Some features require an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials, magic links, and any device that has an active session, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to notify us promptly at info@yumejo.com of any suspected unauthorized access. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion, including for suspected fraud, chargeback abuse, or violations of these Terms.

5. Subscriptions, Coins, and Billing

Paid features are billed through Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). By providing payment information you authorize us and Stripe to charge the applicable fees, taxes, and surcharges to your selected payment method. The following terms apply to all paid features:

  • Pricing — prices, coin packs, and subscription tiers are shown in-product at the time of purchase and may change prospectively. Taxes (including U.S. sales tax, VAT, GST, or JCT) will be added where applicable based on your billing location.
  • Subscriptions — subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual, as selected) at the then-current price, until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period.
  • Coins — coins are a limited, non-transferable license to access paid content within the Service. Coins have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash, cannot be transferred between accounts, and may expire if your account is inactive for an extended period or terminated under §15.
  • Promotions and bonuses — promotional coins, refill bonuses, and trial periods are limited offers; we may modify or revoke them prospectively, and unredeemed promotional credits are forfeited on account closure.
  • Payment failures — if a charge is declined or reversed, we may suspend access to paid features and retry the charge consistent with Stripe's retry rules until payment is received.
  • Card data — your full card number is collected by Stripe directly over an encrypted connection and is never sent to or stored on our servers. We receive only a tokenized payment reference, the brand, the last four digits, and your billing country and ZIP/postal code.

6. Refunds and Cancellation

Except where required by applicable law, all sales are final and fees are non-refundable. We may, at our sole discretion, issue refunds or credits in cases of duplicate charges, billing errors, or extended Service outages. Subscription cancellations stop future renewals; you retain access through the end of the period you have already paid for. To request a refund or to cancel your subscription, contact info@yumejo.com or use the cancel option in your account settings. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in suspension of the Service to the affected account until the dispute is resolved.

7. User Content and Reader Profile

Some features let you submit content to the Service — for example, a display name, profile image, reader-profile fields (preferred name, honorific, gender, language), and the choices you make within stories ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, and you grant Yumejo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, and create derivative works of your User Content solely as necessary to operate, improve, and secure the Service. You represent that:

  • You have all rights necessary to grant the license above
  • Your User Content does not infringe any third-party right (including copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights)
  • Your User Content does not contain content that violates §8 (Prohibited Conduct)
  • We may remove or refuse to display User Content at our discretion, including for legal, safety, or community reasons

8. Prohibited Conduct

  • Violating any law, regulation, or third-party right
  • Attempting unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or networks; probing for vulnerabilities; or conducting denial-of-service activity
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, scraping, or otherwise extracting the source code, models, or content of the Service except as expressly permitted by law
  • Using the Service to harass, defraud, harm minors, distribute malware, or post unlawful, infringing, hateful, or sexually-exploitative content
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or otherwise commercializing access to the Service or to coins without our written consent
  • Reproducing, redistributing, or publicly performing Service content (text, images, audio, video, code) outside the Service except as the law expressly permits
  • Using bots, automated processes, or fraudulent payment methods to acquire coins, exploit promotions, or circumvent guest limits
  • Interfering with the integrity of payments (including filing false chargebacks)

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all software, story text, characters, illustrations, audio, designs, trademarks, and logos, is owned by Yumejo or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international intellectual-property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own non-commercial enjoyment. No other rights are granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

10. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at info@yumejo.com that contains: (a) a physical or electronic signature of the rights-holder or authorized agent, (b) identification of the copyrighted work, (c) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location on the Service, (d) your contact information, (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized, and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on the rights-holder's behalf. We will respond consistent with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service integrates with and contains links to third-party services (including Stripe for payments, Google/Apple/LINE for sign-in, Cloudflare for hosting, and PostHog and Google Analytics for analytics) and may link to partner products. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. Without limiting the foregoing, we make no warranty regarding:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any content
  • Uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of the Service
  • Any third-party content or service accessed through the Service
  • That defects in the Service will be corrected, or that the Service will meet your requirements

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YUMEJO, ITS OPERATORS, AND ITS CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). The following limitations apply regardless of the legal theory:

  • These limits apply to the fullest extent permitted by law, even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for certain damages — in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law
  • You are solely responsible for backing up any User Content of value to you

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Yumejo, its operators, and its contractors from any claim, demand, loss, or damages — including reasonable attorneys' fees — arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your User Content, (c) your violation of these Terms or any law, or (d) your violation of any third-party right. We may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to cooperate with our defense.

15. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including suspected violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, chargeback abuse, or extended inactivity. You may terminate your account at any time by emailing info@yumejo.com. On termination:

  • Your right to access the Service ends immediately
  • Active subscriptions stop renewing; access continues through the end of any period already paid for, except where termination was for cause
  • Unused coins and promotional credits are forfeited and are not refundable, except where required by law
  • Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law, and Arbitration — survive

16. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example, by email or an in-product banner). Changes take effect when posted unless we say otherwise. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, your sole remedy is to stop using the Service.

17. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and by applicable U.S. federal law. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Subject to §18 (Arbitration), the exclusive venue for any dispute that proceeds in court is the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

18. Arbitration and Class-Action Waiver

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that is not resolved through good-faith negotiation will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, with the seat of arbitration in Wyoming and proceedings conducted in English. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. You and Yumejo each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or other representative proceeding; claims may only be brought on an individual basis. Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for actual or threatened infringement of intellectual-property rights. You may opt out of this Section 18 by sending written notice to info@yumejo.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms; opt-out does not affect any other provision.

19. Contact and Notices

Notices to Yumejo should be sent to info@yumejo.com. We may give notices to you by email to the address associated with your account, by posting in the Service, or by updating this page.
