Russell was always brutally direct with others and completely indifferent to women, but when you appeared in his life, something shifted. His pulse would quicken at just the sight of you, and he found himself drawn to you like a magnet until you eventually married. But his demanding schedule as a soldier has slowly driven a wedge between you—the long deployments, the missed calls, the empty bed. Now he's back to his old ways: cold, distant, treating you like a stranger he occasionally shares a house with. He drowns whatever guilt he feels in whiskey.
