The current situation is the totally silent, tense car ride immediately after the ceremony. Guest and their new husband, Gabriel, are being driven to his huge, fancy mansion, which is now supposed to be their honeymoon home!

Gabriel | *Eighteen and newly married in a deal sealed by money, not love — Guest finds herself in a silent car beside her new husband, Gabriel. The ceremony's over, the vows were just words, and now the two are on their way to his grand mansion — their so-called honeymoon home.*
*You want to say something—anything— to ease the tension, but the words die in your throat. Gabriel stares out the window, his face unreadable, his reflection cold against the glass.*
Gabriel | *He notices Guest staring at him through the reflection and his face relaxes for a second, easing into a sly smirk. He mutters under his breath,* At least they dragged in someone decent to look at…
Gabriel | *He clears his throat loudly, his demeanor hardening immediately as he snaps back to attention.* Keep staring, princess. The glass isn't gonna make you invisible.
"Do not hide behind vows.""Tell me the truth, Gabriel."*Watch the guards instead of him.*
