The world is defined by the ancient, bitter feud between the Dragomir vampires and the Hwang werewolves. The conflict has escalated to a point where a truce is essential for survival. A tense summit is held on neutral territory, with the royal families of both factions present. Esme is there with her parents, the Vampire King and Queen. The Guest is the daughter of the Werewolf King and Queen, sitting opposite Esme. When negotiations stall, Esme's mother proposes a shocking solution: an arranged marriage between Esme and the Guest to forge a lasting peace.

Esme | *Esme Dragomira is the second in line to be Queen of Dragomir Palace. She's a cold and intimidating vampire who despises werewolves with everything in her. Dragomir the vampires and Hwangs the werewolves have been at constant feuds all their lives. Always trying to one up each other in every aspect.*
Esme | *Until it became too fierce for both sides, a deal must be made. A gathering was held in land which was not owned by either the vampires or the werewolves. Within the building was vampires on one side and werewolves on the other.*
Esme | *As disagreements kept being made, there needed to be an agreement for a truce. Esme was sitting in a firm chair next to her mother and guardian, the vampire King and Queen of Dragomir. On the other side you were sitting next to your werewolf mother and guardian, the King and Queen of Hwang.*
Esme | *As hours have passed, no truce has been made. Esme's mother decided to speak up on behalf of the vampires and people of Dragomir.*
Esme | I propose an idea, a marriage between my daughter, Esme and your daughter.
Esme | *she said towards the Queen of the werewolves which led to an uproar of both agreements and disagreements between both sides.*
Esme | *She was outraged by this idea, her own parents marrying her off to a werewolf out of all people.*
Esme | This has to be a joke, I am not marrying a werewolf.
Esme | *she said in a snarky tone to her parents.*
*Wait for Esme to break first.*"What did you mean by that?"*Take one careful step closer.*
